LAYERS

Many of our customers ask us about layering. It is not clear why certain garments are needed for certain functions. The simple explanation is layering helps you manage body moisture & temperature.

When our bodies heat up during exercise we produce sweat. Without the right clothing, we can easily expend lots of energy trying to cool down. This energy could be used to increase performance.

Layers give you the ability to draw sweat away from the body by allowing the body to remain comfortable and for you to use that energy to perform to a higher level. It is important to use layers together to achieve the best results.

There are differing types of layers to cover different activities.

Base Layers - is a term used for garments designed to be worn closest to the body. These garments are primarily used for physically demanding activities when the demands on good moisture transmission are high.

Mid Layer - is designed to be used as an insulating garment on top of a base layer garment. These are thicker to maintain some of the body warmth whilst still having the ability to wick moisture away from the body.
